Code Corner - February 26th, 2026

City of Butler Code Corner

February 26th, 2026

We are looking for people that want to help our community.

A simple request to ask people in our community, that have the ability and skills to help others, if they would consider volunteering to help for real, tangible, needs. We are beginning to organize a “helping hands” community volunteer program that offers our citizens a way to help those in need. Some need help in the yard, some need a small home repair, you can see where this is going right? We are looking to connect people that can do some physical work with those that can’t.

The goal is to find people that want to help from a desire to care, not because we “have” to. We don’t want to burn anybody out or tackle any enormous projects. Just a few people that have the time, and the skills, to help someone in our community that truly does have a need.

Does that sound like something you would be interested in? If so, please reach out to me at the city building, send me an email or leave me a voicemail. Honestly, I am always willing to have a constructive conversation. I am excited to see who is willing to help those in need, by doing good in the community for those that really have a need, our city will grow stronger, and we can enjoy living in Butler. As I am out driving around in the community, having conversations and interacting with the people of our City, I can identify not only needs, but also identify those that have serious needs, not just people that don’t want to do the “adulting” a society needs to survive.

It has been a rough winter, and as false spring has reminded us that better weather is coming soon, I like to look ahead to what comes next, the warmth of the sun, the cool of the rain and the rebirth of nature all around. As the old Irish saying goes, “may the blessing of the light be upon you, may it warm your heart till it glows like a great peat fire”. There are those among us that have a need, do you have it in your heart to help someone with a real need?

We are stronger together.
