Economic Development Commission

The Butler Economic Development Commission (EDC) is responsible for reviewing petitions for Economic Revitalization Area designations and Economic Development Target Area designations.  This designation is the first step for a real estate or personal property tax abatement. The EDC makes a recommendation to the Common Council concerning both said designation and the term of the proposed tax abatement.

The EDC meets on an as-need basis, upon proper notification of public meetings per IC 5-3-1. These meetings are open to the public.
